Gray The Artist

Original Work and Series
Many different styles influence my work. Click on the series of work you want to see more of.
Darkly and Dreamy
Style of Art
Not so much a series as a type of work with either a limited color palette or macabre style/inspirations. The title alone is inspired by the book "Darkly Dreaming Dexter". I find inspirations in shows , books, games, and even other artists. This style I tend to draw and paint in is rather random yet relatively spooky.

Fins Up! Project
Currently on Hold until further notice
This series is made of strictly ocean related art. This is a way I thought my art could be useful for something bigger than myself much bigger like helping the ocean. 50% (or more!) of the profit I make on ocean prints will go to helping keep our oceans clean. The problem stretches much bigger beyond trash there are overwhelming levels of deadly gasses in our atmosphere and if we keep going this way we will be in line for the 6th mass extinction. This was scary for me to learn so since then I've been trying to be cautious how I live my material life.

Smoke and Shrooms
A New Style and Series for Me
I learned that I love psychedelic music and art. Despite having never done a psychedelic drug, I respond well to color and such vibrant colors so close together excite me! Musical artists that inspire my work are All Them Witches, Liquid Visions, Jimi Hendrix, and the painter Alex Grey.

Cavities
Series in the making
What's better than sugar? Desserts! Cotton candy, cake, bubblegum, and ice cream all excite me. I respond very well to color and if a color scheme looks as though it'll hurt my teeth then I am as inspired as I can be. "Cavities" has been a series I've been working on since I learned to paint. It began with my love for the California sky. I remain being inspired by artists like Ivan Alifan and Melanie Martinez. Obviously Candyland was my favorite game as a kid.
